Having the technology staff complete this will avoid difficulties with the website.
Initiation of this project will be done by Ben within the next couple of weeks.
After content is put in, the template can be changed and content will stay the same (mostly).
The Leadership Team discussed different themes and templates for the ESU website.
The site will be ready for presentation to the ESU staff by our meeting on May 18th, 2012.
Mary Beel has requested that initiation of typing content begin after March 1st, 2012 due to scheduling.
Determine QAR Visit Preferred Dates
Letter received confirming that ESU #17 is now in Candidacy status for AdvancED/NCA Accreditation
AdvancED RecommendedFormat:
Sun - Visitation Team meets for orientation
Mon - onsite interviews with ESU departments/staff members
Tue - school visits
Wed - work time, follow-up, oral exit report
The weeks of April 21st (2013), April 28th (2013), or May 5th (2013) will be presented to AdvancED and they will choose the dates from this list.
Expertise or demographics are to be listed on the form for this visit. It will be noted that we are a rural area and that we do have rural attendance centers.
Action Items
1) Determine ESU participation at School District Focus Interviews
At last Advisory Council meeting Superintendents indicated that the Focus Interviews are a good idea and indicate that the ESU is heading in the right direction.
Districts will be encouraged to choose who they would like, form their district, to participate in the interviews (i.e. staff, administration, parents, students).
Dates will be set with superintendents at February 28 Advisory Council meeting. Districts will also need to determine what time of day will work best for their establishment (i.e. morning, noon, night).
Determine who from the Leadership Team will be part of the Focus Interviews (3 per school district) and available dates/times in March-April that can be shared with superintendents

Determine target audience for Focus Interviews: possibly invite/include superintendent, principal, counselor, school improvement chair, board of education member, student, parent
To remove the silo perception (via departments), questions could be looked at by domain (i.e. social/emotional, academic, innovative practices).
Interview questions will be distributed to districts prior to the interview. This will allow them time to review questions and create their team based on the information to be addressed in the questions.
Jeff will send Superintendents an email prior to Feb 28 Advisory Council meeting
explain Focus Interview process, purpose
invite 'full participation'
1 hour session
request bringing 3 open dates to meeting
Meetings will occur yearly at each district.
2) Identify and Prioritize Recommendations for Improvement
The Leadership Team was able to review Standards 1 & 2.
3) Leadership Team discussed the new Logo and places that it will be used.
Next Meeting:
May 4 Leadership Team 1:00 p.m. in Ainsworth (bldg is determined by where PRT meeting is held).
